in the maze of her imagination;

Jul 12

you see i’m all about them words over numbers

unencumbered, numbered words.

I love to read, i’ve always been a reader since i was a little one stumbling through Dr. Seuss.

So, I decided to get rewarded for my reading and sign up for my library’s summer reading program. There’s nothing more comforting, or cozier than settling down and curling up with a blanket and a book. Call me old fashioned, call me lame, whatever you may, books rock. You can just get lost and join a new world, a new universe, temporarily.

I’ve been reading a bunch of non-fiction books, lately, especially about music. I love music history and knowing about the artists who really started things up and inspired others. I find it so fascinating and I just love to learn more and more about music and “the greats.” There’s no satisfying amount of trivia for me. I watched a documentary on Simon & Garfunkel the other day that was incredible, and I’ve been listening to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary concert CD nonstop for the past three weeks or so. There’s nothing better than good, quality music, you know?

You see, I’ve become very close with these four guys recently: George, Paul, John, and Ringo. I mean, I’ve always loved the Beatles since I was a little kid- my dad used to play the Yellow Submarine album all the time in the car- but after this year, and taking Society & Music, and just learning and researching and reading so much, I’ve truly fallen more and more in love with them and their musicianship and ideas. I watched Nowhere Boy the other day and finished off a couple book about them and the stories behind their songs. Next up, I’ve got Shout! and John Lennon: The Life. As well, I’ve got an Aerosmith autobiography that’s itching to be read…

My life is outrageously exciting, I know, but what can I say? These are the things that excite me.

Just let me geek out in peace, I’ll be back eventually…
